Guest Travel Information

We know we have a lot of out-of-town guests, and we hope this information will help you plan your trip to Wilmington and Kure Beach!  As the date gets closer, we will update this page with more information.

Hotel Recommendation & Transportation

We recommend that guests stay at the Courtyard Carolina Beach Oceanfront, where we have arranged a hotel block and transportation to and from the wedding.

If you have signed up for our shuttle service on your RSVP form, shuttles will leave the Courtyard Carolina Beach Oceanfront at 5:40pm and 5:55pm.

To make sure you have time to get into the aquarium and find a seat before the ceremony, please strongly consider taking the 5:40pm shuttle and leaving the 5:55pm shuttle for any guests running late.

Other Accomodations

Even if you choose not to stay in our hotel block, we strongly recommend that you stay at Carolina Beach or Kure Beach.  Both towns have local hotels and motels as well as many condos and houses that are available to rent on AirBNB and Vrbo.

While Wilmington is the biggest nearby city, our wedding venue is twenty miles south of Wilmington, and much of the drive is through beach towns with low speed limits.  As a result, staying in Wilmington will likely mean you have a 40 to 60 minute drive to the wedding  venue, depending on where you stay.  If you choose to stay on the mainland, please make sure to check how far your drive is and plan accordingly.

Things to Do

If you're in town for the weekend, we recommend catching a local theatre production at Thalian Hall, taking in scenic views of the Cape Fear River on the river walk, playing laser tag at Jungle Rapids, enjoying the art at the Cameron Art Museum, visiting local historical sites like Fort Fisher and the North Carolina Battleship, or taking a walk on one of the area's many beautiful beaches.
